We are both founding members of the All Ireland Siberian Husky Club, where
Darren is the vice-chairman and Elaine is a commitee member, and also founding
members of the Alaskan Malamute Club of Ireland, where Elaine is the secretary
and Darren is the treasurer. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you require
any help or advice on either of these breeds. We also attend movement and conformation
seminars whenever possible, along with anything else of relevance to either
of our breeds.
Elaine has always been around large breed dogs all her life (German Shepherd
dogs, Rotties, and an Old English sheepdog), so she always knew that dogs would
be a large part of her life. Darren had no dogs growing up and always wanted
one, so things took their natural course and over time we got our first Siberian
husky and Lueldar Kennels started from there.
We spent the first 7 years of our life together travelling all over the world.
Our travels eventually took us to Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway, where
we were lucky enough to encounter many beautiful Nordic breeds, mostly Siberian
huskies, which took our breath away with their beauty, and the impressive Alaskan
malamute. We started to plan a trip to Alaska and while researching where to
go and what to do we read more and more about these 2 breeds of dogs. So instead
of going on holiday to see more of these wonderful dogs we decided to buy a
house so we could get our first Siberian husky. We purchased our home and within
4 weeks we had our first Siberian husky, and things went from there until we
got involved in showing our dogs, imported two Siberians from France, one of
whom had been mated to a Hungarian champion and was in whelp, so we sold our
house and bought a cottage in the country where we now have enough space and
kennels for all the dogs that we want. Our canine family has been steadily increasing
ever since.
We are totally smitten with every one of our dogs and will never re-home any
of them, as they give us so much unconditional love, respect, enjoyment and
companionship, also success in the show-ring, and by producing the next generation
of Lueldar dogs. We keep all our dogs, show or pet, for the whole of their lives,
as we have enough time to give them the attention they deserve and enough love
for each and every one of them. We will look after them in their old age and
beyond, as this is the least they deserve after all the wonderful years of enjoyment
and fulfilment they have brought into our lives.
